Horrific images to combat disbelief: Israel shows the press the atrocities committed by Hamas
The Israeli government gives journalists access to videos from the body cameras of Hamas terrorists in an effort to combat denial.
This Monday, Israel gave several journalists access to what it described as "horrifying" and "never before seen" images of body cameras worn by Hamas terrorists while they attacked Jews on October 7. According to the Israeli authorities, they decided to show journalists these images to counter a "Holocaust denial-like situation."
Israeli government spokesman Eylon Levy revealed before the release of the videos that the Israel Defense Forces have "been collecting body camera footage taken by Hamas death squads," and that they would make the images public to maintain a record to counter those who doubt whether certain events took place and thus silence numerous interested parties that have been denying the evidence of terror for days.
"I've never had an experience like that"
Several of the journalists and officials who saw the videos took to social media to talk about their experiences. They narrated what they saw and described the images as "horrible." This is the case of the Uruguayan-Israeli journalist Jana Beris, who stated that one of the most difficult moments was when they heard a call from a terrorist who called his family to emotionally tell them that "he killed Jews with his own hands."
(...) I just killed 10 Jews with my bare hands and I'm talking on the cell phone of the Jewish woman I just killed,'" Beris explained in a video published on X (formerly Twitter).
Gabriel Chrocron, advisor to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, also said that that call was one of the most shocking things he has ever heard. "And he said it again and again: 'I killed 10 Jews, 10, with my bare hands. Be proud,'" Chocron assured.
Journalist Melissa Weiss said she had never had a similar experience: "For 43 minutes, the sounds and video of gunshots and unedited murder were punctuated by gasps and sobs from grown adults. I have never had an experience like that."
Emanuel Miller posted photos showing people's reactions to the images shown at the event. "Hundreds of journalists and photographers from media companies all over the world attended today the screening of a film of assorted footage showing the extent of the horrors committed by Hamas," Miller said.
"What they saw left many of the journalists visibly shocked and disgusted," Miller added.
The cruelty of Hamas: From using children as human shields to camouflaging its missiles among the civilian population
The screening with journalists coincides with the complaint by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) that Hamas is cruelly camouflaging its missiles among the civilian population.
"Hamas directly endangers Gazans, Israelis and the international community," the IDF stated.
