On Wednesday, a car bombing occurred in the vicinity of a police station in the city of Buenos Aires, Cauca, Colombia. At least two people died and two others were injured and taken to hospital.

At the moment, the perpetrator of the attack is unknown. The Colombian Attorney General's Office announced that an investigation is already underway to find those responsible:

Faced with the explosion registered in Timba, Cauca, which apparently left several people injured, the Prosecutor's Office General of the Nation, through the Specialized Directorate against Criminal Organizations, highlighted a specialized team of prosecutors and investigators to attend to urgent actions that allow support for the investigation and clarification of the case.

On the other hand, the Colombian Ministry of Defense shared the words of the Deputy Director of the Colombian Police Tito Castellanos on X, previously known as Twitter:

In the department of Cauca, in the town of Timba at 7:15 a.m., a car bomb was activated against the police station approximately 50 meters [164 feet] away. Unfortunately, two people lost their lives and two more were injured. At this time, police units are being brought in from the field. We have air support in our military forces and we are developing contingency operations.
