Different criminal groups in Mexico - designated as foreign terrorist organizations (CTOs) - are offering sizable rewards for anyone who attacks Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents (ICE) or Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Chicago (Illinois).

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a release in which it claims it has gathered "credible intelligence" showing how Mexican criminals are committed to giving up to $50.000 to anyone who assassinates senior officials of both agencies.

"These criminal networks have issued explicit instructions to U.S.-based sympathizers, including street gangs in Chicago, to monitor, harass, and assassinate federal agents," DHS summarized.

They have "rooftop vigilantes equipped with firearms"

The department led by Kristi Noem detailed some of the modus operandi of these criminal organizations to target ICE or CBP agents. For example, she explained that members of groups such as the Latin Kings "have deployed spotters on rooftops equipped with firearms and radio communications."

"These individuals track ICE and CBP movements in real-time, relaying coordinates. This surveillance has enabled ambushes and disruptions during routine enforcement actions, including recent raids under Operation Midway Blitz," the DHS added.

It also commented that in Chicago - and in other cities, such as Portland, Oregon - members of Antifa - which has recently been designated as a "domestic terrorist organization"- has provided "logistical support such as pre-staged protest supplies, doxxing of agent identities, and on-the-ground interference to shield cartel-linked individuals from deportation."

Rewards for murder, kidnapping or disclosing personal data

"These criminal networks are not just resisting the rule of law, they are waging an organized campaign of terror against the brave men and women who protect our borders and communities. Our agents are facing ambushes, drone surveillance, and death threats, all because they dare to enforce the laws passed by Congress. We will not back down from these threats, and every criminal, terrorist, and illegal alien will face American justice," Noem assured.

Aside from the $50,000 the terrorists are offering for the murder of a senior ICE or CBP official, they will also give $2,000 to anyone who gives personal information about agents and between $5,000 and $10,000 to anyone who kidnaps or assaults without killing federal personnel.

A few days ago, the Department of Justice (DOJ) reported the arrest of an alleged Latin Kings leader in Chicago - Juan Espinoza Martinez - who pledged to pay $10,000 to anyone who killed a CBP agent.
