The return of Victoria's Secret: The woke doctrine sneaks between Adriana Lima and Irina Shayk

Numerous celebrities, lights and glitter, abundant glamor, performances by renowned artists ... and many “angels.” For the first time in six years, several of the world's most prestigious models returned to the runway of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2024, an event held in New York City.

Te fashion show was attended by some of its most iconic angels, some already out of the catwalks for years. For example, Brazilian top model Adriana Lima spread her wings for her 18th appearance on the runway for the famous female beauty brand.

Irina Shayk also attended. At 38 years old, the Russian model returned to the runway. She has been the face of many of the world’s most important fashion brands. She has also been on the cover of numerous national and international magazines and she’s even ventured into the film industry. Alessandra Ambrosio and Isabeli Fontana also attended.

But it didn't end there. More veteran top models like Eva Herzigova, Tyra Banks, Carla Bruni and Kate Moss, who was accompanied by her daughter Lila Moss in her debut for the brand, now in their 50s, grabbed the attention of those present at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2024.

Other angels that Victoria's Secret featured for its new show were Candice Swanepoel, Doutzen Kroes, Barbara Palvin, Josephine Skriver, Jasmine Tookes and sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid. The sisters opened the fashion show. Gisele Bündchen and Miranda Kerr were not present.

First trans models in a Victoria's Secret fashion show

To follow the woke standards that are trending nowadays, Victoria's Secret decided to include, for the first time in its history, two trans models in its iconic runway show.

Alex Consani and Valentina Sampaio made fashion history as the first transgender models to walk the runway in a Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

After the last show was held in 2018, Victoria's Secret faced a lot of criticism when Ed Razek, then its chief marketing officer, claimed that there was no place for transgender or plus-size models within the company.

Razek was forced to apologize, especially after numerous people inside and outside the fashion industry encouraged the public to boycott the brand. From that moment on, Victoria's Secret decided to incorporate inclusion and woke standards into its image, concluding with the addition of two transgender models to this year's fashion show.

Cher as the gala's host

Several performers were hired to make the catwalk an even more spectacular event. One of those singers was Cher, who performed several of her hits.
