Comedian Adam Carolla is leaving California: Living in Los Angeles "is horrible"

Comedian and podcast host Adam Carolla said during his appearance on The Sage Steele Show that he plans to move away from Los Angeles (California) due to the economic and social crisis in the city and the state in general.

Carolla said that living in Los Angeles "is horrible.” After spending his whole life in the city, he announced that it is "time to move.” He said that he will wait for his children to finish high school:

"That's a sad testimonial about California and sort of recent downturn in L.A. as well, because growing up out here, nobody left (...) I have twins, and they're in their senior year of high school and I couldn't- I didn't want to pick up and, you know, tear up their roots, you know? So people always go, ‘When are you leaving?’ And I go, I will be attending their high school graduation in a U-Haul."

The comedian claimed that California’s problems are "self-imposed" state, which are, in his opinion, “super avoidable." He also criticized Democratic governor Gavin Newsom, whom he described as a "sociopathic, narcissistic, empty bag."

"When does it end, when do we change course?"

Carolla insisted that Los Angeles, and California in general, is not capable of "reversing course" and stated that for there to be improvement the state will likely have to "bottom out."

He said the state made a mistake by voting for Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass. "We voted him back in" (...) and her for being a "woman of color."

"I say to a lot of people like, when's it end? When do we change course? And the number one answer is, 'We haven't bottomed out yet. We're getting near it. We haven't totally bottomed out.' (...) We get what we deserve, and we deserve it."

Carolla also stated that he had the opportunity to interview Newsom in the past and claimed that he is a "narcissistic douchebag" and a "buffoon": "He says nothing. And we vote for this guy. He says nothing."
