Strong storms and tornadoes in Tennessee leave at least six dead
The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings on Saturday for several cities in the state. More than 20 people have been injured.
In Tennessee, a series of storms and tornadoes left at least six dead on Saturday. According to a Montgomery County report:
Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden said, "This is a sad day for our community. We are praying for those who are injured, lost loved ones, and lost their homes."
Later, the Nashville Office of Emergency Management reported on its X (formerly Twitter) account that three more deaths were recorded outside of Nashville.
The severe storms left more than 80,000 people without power and caused extensive damage to some homes in the city of Clarksville. Authorities urged residents to stay away from the most affected areas.
