Secret Service opens fire on three people breaking into a vehicle protecting Joe Biden's granddaughter

The agents assigned to protect Naomi Biden fired shots at three individuals who broke a window of a parked SUV.

The Secret Service reported that one of its agents fired three shots at individuals who were trying to break into a parked vehicle that was escorting Naomi Biden, the granddaughter of President Joe Biden. The incident occurred in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

According to information reported by the Associated Press, who spoke with an anonymous agent, three people broke a window of the parked and unoccupied van. The three assailants fled in a red vehicle, and the Secret Service has since notified the Metropolitan Police to be alert.

"The agents, assigned to protect Naomi Biden, were out with her in the Georgetown neighborhood late Sunday night when they saw the three people breaking a window of the parked and unoccupied SUV," the AP explained.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident. "The official could not discuss details of the investigation publicly and spoke to the AP on Monday on the condition of anonymity," the AP detailed.
