A shooting in Pearland (Texas) on Sunday left one young man dead and four injured. It occurred at a market in the city located 21 miles from Houston. The city's police department described the shooting as a "disturbance." Five people were shot, including two minors and three adults, all of them hospitalized. Minutes later, police spokesman Chad Rogers posted a statement on X (formerly Twitter) announcing that one of the minors died:

The police department reported that the people who were injured are still hospitalized. Their current condition and the severity of their injuries are unknown. Meanwhile, police continue to search for the alleged perpetrator or perpetrators of the shooting, whose whereabouts are unknown.

According to Rogers in statements reported by NBC, it all started around 5:30 pm (local time) at Cole's Flea Market when two people got into an argument. For this reason, the authorities haven't ruled out that there could have been multiple shooters. "This started because there was a disturbance between two individuals at the flea market that resulted in gunfire. It does not appear to be any kind of targeted attack on the flea market," Rogers said.

The investigation is still ongoing and the Pearland Police Department is working with both the Houston Police and Harris County (Texas) authorities. They are trying to locate the suspects but they have very limited information. Rogers said there is no description of the possible suspects or information about the vehicles used to flee the scene of the crime.
