A large group of hooded thieves robbed a Nordstrom in Los Angeles on Saturday, stealing approximately $100,000 worth of merchandise from the store. The images, which have gone viral over the last couple of hours, show the assailants - between 30 and 50 people - grabbing everything in their path at the store located in the Westfield Topanga Mall in Canoga Park. They fled the store with clothing, handbags and other luxury accessories, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Topanga Division officers were on the scene quickly and have several investigative leads. To criminals, it is just property taken. For those who live in the area and patronize the Topanga Mall, it is a loss of feeling safe. The LAPD will exhaust all efforts to bring those responsible into custody and seek criminal prosecution.

The video shows the assailants, dressed in dark hoodies and face masks, ransacking the store and wreaking havoc in just a few minutes. The robbers even attacked the security guards with pepper spray and bear spray, according to police.

According to investigators, the group stole between $60,000 and $100,000 worth of merchandise. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass issued a statement condemning the events:

What happened at the Nordstrom in the Topanga Mall is absolutely unacceptable. Those who committed these and acts like it in neighboring areas must be held accountable. The Los Angeles Police Department will continue to work to not only find those responsible for this incident but to prevent these attacks on retailers from happening again in the future.
