The storm continues to strike most of the Central and Southern parts of the country. In recent hours, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued tornado warnings for several locations in Illinois, Iowa, Arizona and Missouri. Authorities are already asking residents to be prepared to take shelter. In the last hours, in Bollinger County (Missouri) a violent tornado left at least five dead and multiple injured in the last hours according to authorities reported.

Early this morning, the National Weather Service confirmed at least one tornado in Bryant Township, Illinois, about 200 miles southwest of Chicago. It caused damage to urban real estate and left many places without power.

Illinois is one of the states hit hardest by the storm. This Tuesday, 90 mph gusts of wind and 2-3 inch hail were reported across the state, accompanied by thunderstorms. There were no injuries, but in cities such as Moline, located on the border with Iowa, several buildings were damaged and there were many fallen trees. In the Chicago metropolitan area, residents were alerted of 70 mph winds.

According to National Weather Service forecasts, there will be heavy rain on Wednesday from southeast Texas to the Great Lakes, affecting cities such as Louisville (Kentucky) and Nashville (Tennessee). However, high temperatures are expected in several parts of these regions.

This storm will also make its way into Arkansas, where several deaths and multiple injuries were reported last weekend as a result of tornadoes.
