Jared Dowell vandalized a city landmark with graffiti directed against law enforcement. A police officer was assaulted during the arrest.
The Boston Police Department (BPD) arrested Jared Dowell, son of Democratic Representative Katherine Clark, on Sunday after he vandalized a city landmark with anti-police messages. The graffiti read "No Cop City" and "All Cops Are Bastards."
At the time of the arrest, about 20 people surrounded and threatened the police. One of the agents was hit in the face, causing bleeding from his nose and mouth.
Dowell, who is transgender and goes by the name Riley, was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon, destruction or injury to personal property and damage of property by graffiti/tagging. In fact, that was the name his mother used when she confirmed her son's arrest:
In addition, BPD reported the arrest of another individual on the same charges as Dowell.
