A hit-and-run driver caused an accident when he crashed his vehicle into the rear of an SUV. The vehicle crashed, around 9 p.m. local time on Monday into a restaurant located in Upper Manhattan in New York, injuring 22 people, three of them girls aged one, seven and 10 years old. Most of the injuries were caused by several pieces of glass exploding and none of those involved in the collision are in serious condition:
Of all those affected, a police spokesman said in statements picked up by Fox 5, 19 were taken to a hospital, while the remaining three people refused treatment.
The establishment where the accident occurred is the Inwood Bar and Grill, a sports bar located in New York, police said to ABC. It all started a few minutes earlier, when a white Audi pulled out of a service station and hit the back of the SUV. The driver of the pickup truck, a black Toyota RAV4, lost control of the vehicle. The SUV ended up on the sidewalk, crashing into the front window of the store located between West 204th Street and Broadway.
The Audi driver who caused it all is on the run and New York police forces are still searching for him.
