Actress Susan Sarandon once again generated controversy on social networks for a publication in reference to the Holocaust, which according to some media "seems to suggest that if a particular political party gains control of Congress in November, the United States could slowly begin to resemble Nazi Germany."

It did not start with the gas chambers. It started with a game controlling the media. A party that controls the message. A party that decides what the truth is. One party censoring speech and silencing the opposition. A party that divides citizens into 'us' and 'them' and asks its supporters to harass them. It started when good people turned a blind eye and let it happen.

"Sarandon did not disclose which party she was referring to, "but with a long history of publicizing her progressive, often radical political views, we can assume" she is referring to the right-wing controlling Congress, notes theOutkick outlet.

The actress' tweet went viral among fans of Gina Carano who was fired from Disney in 2021 for comparing Republicans to Jews in Nazi Germany on her social media. Carano also claimed to have felt persecuted for being a GOP supporter in Hollywood. People reacted to Sarandon's comments by saying calling for "justice for Gina Carano".

"This is what fascism looks like."

In February of this year, another Sarandon post generated criticism in online communities when she said that the crowded funeral procession - on New York's Fifth Avenue - of slain police officer Jason Rivera, 22, was a fascist actI am going to tell my children that this is fascism," he said.

Along with a photo of the funeral procession, the actress noted: "So, if all these police officers were not necessary for the CRIME of that day, doesn't that mean they won't be needed ANY day?" referring to the ambush of Rivera and her partner Wilbert Mora, 27, who was also shot and killed in Harlem while responding to a domestic violence call.

Sarandon apologized after a severe media backlash ensued.
