ANNE HECHE PASSES AWAY
The actress was in a coma after suffering a serious traffic accident.
Anne Heche died today at a hospital in Los Angeles (California), when the life support that was keeping her artificially alive was withdrawn. Just a week ago, the actress suffered a serious accident when her car crashed into a house, which caused the property to burn down.
"Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive," her family said in a statement Thursday. "She has long since chosen to donate her organs and is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable," the text added.
According to the newspaper TMZ sources at the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that Heche had tested positive for cocaine use. Tests also reportedly found fentanyl in his blood. However, TMZ' s sources detailed that fentanyl is sometimes used as a medication in hospitals, so further tests would have to be done to determine if he was under its influence at the time of the accident.

"We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne's recovery, and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses who cared for Anne at Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital," the family said in the aforementioned statement.
