Joe Biden told reporters in the Lake Tahoe area, where he is vacationing, that he will try to promote another dose against Covid-19.

"I signed off this morning on a proposal we have to present to the Congress, a request for additional funding for a new vaccine that is necessary, that works," the president said.

In addition, he said that, although it is not confirmed, they plan to recommend that "everybody get it, no matter whether they've gotten it before or not."

The president's announcement comes shortly after an anonymous White House official revealed that the administration plans to urge Americans to receive a booster against the virus in the fall.

This comes at a time when some are calling on the government to reimpose pandemic restrictions, such as the use of masks or, according to some reports, the full protocol from 2020 and 2022. Some universities have already reinstated mask mandates, temperature checks and social distancing.
