The removal of the Chinese spy balloon that flew over parts of the country last week has not ended the crisis for the Biden Administration. The White House's management has raised criticism from Republican pundits and politicians. The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, Conservative Mark Green says he was not informed of the incident from official sources. The GOP also called for the president and Vice President Kamala Harris to resign due to "the catastrophic spectacle" they have caused.

"It's a crying shame"

Fox asked Green whether the Administration or the Pentagon informed him of what was going on. Green replied bluntly, "No. We’re getting very little and we never got a phone call. We never got alerted to this. It’s a crying shame when the Chairman of Homeland Security finds out about a Chinese spy balloon flying over the United States, it’s just — it’s really unconscionable."

In the congressman's opinion, the reason for this lack of information is because "they’re ashamed of their actions. They recognize that this is weakness on the global stage. But they seem to think that that’s what’s best. Don’t poke Xi Jinping, we don’t want to make Xi Jinping mad at us. Look, the guy has got a spy balloon over our country. This is unacceptable. And I don’t really understand why this thing was allowed to come into the United States’ airspace."

The spy balloon "could have been shot down over the Pacific before entering the US"

The committee chairman had already insisted on social media last Friday that the Chinese balloon could, and should, have been shot down before it entered the U.S. territory from the Pacific. The conservative party has already announced that it will demand answers from the president and his collaborators.

Republicans followed the balloon crisis through the press

The Senate also criticized the lack of official information to members of the Republican Party. Senator Roger Wicker, the top conservative on the House Armed Services Committee, acknowledged that he had to follow the events through the press since the Administration "hoped to cover up the incident from the start." "It is clear that standard protocol for defense of U.S. airspace was ignored. If press reports are correct, the Biden Administration expected to hide this incident from the American people from the beginning. The White House owes Congress and the American people answers about this failure, and I intend to get those answers without delay."

Demands for Biden and Harris' resignations

Representative Joe Wilson, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, went one step further and directly called for the president and vice president to resign from their offices. "The catastrophic Chinese Spy Balloon spectacle clearly threatened American families from Alaska to my home community in South Carolina and confirms President Biden and Vice President Harris should resign."
