Economic mismanagement knocks down Biden's rating
The current rate of disapproval amongst citizens for President Biden has passed 60%
Joe Biden's approval rating fell again in the last week weighed down by the economy, Americans' biggest concern. The president's approval rating is back below forty points (38%), according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll published on Tuesday.
Biden's disapproval rating soars again from 54% to 58%, only one point below its lowest level (59%), reached during the months of May and July.
The new decline in the president's rating came just two months before the mid-term elections. It coincides with citizens' concerns about the management of the economy. This is the country's biggest problem for 29% of respondents. One-third of Republicans and one-quarter of Democrats ranked the economy as the issue they were most concerned about.
Biden's overall approval rating has been below 50% for more than a year, a drop accentuated by inflation and economic stagnation.
Republicans, concerned about crime. Democrats for the environment
Another issue of major concern to Americans is crime. Especially among Republican voters, where the rate of concern about crime stood at 10%. However, concerns for Democrats soar over the environment and limitations on abortion.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted online nationwide. It collected responses from 1,005 adults, including 449 Democrats and 357 Republicans. It has a margin of error of four percentage points.
