Automaker Stellantis recalls 700,000 hybrid vehicles

Automaker Stellantis recalled 700,000 hybrid vehicles worldwide, including Fiat, Jeep, Citroën and Peugeot brands, due to a problem that could cause an engine fire. The information was confirmed by the KBA, Germany's vehicle regulatory body.

Stellantis, which was formed in 2021 through the merger of France's PSA Group and Italian-American firm Fiat-Chrysler, has also recently recalled other models due to other problems with airbags and engines.
The most recent problem affects small hybrid vehicles in which the combustion engine and electric motor are positioned too close to each other.
The affected models
KBA said the recall affected 295,000 Peugeot 208 and 2008 cars, 126,000 Citroën C3, C4 and C3 Aircross, 124,000 Fiat Grande Panda, 44,000 Alfa Romeo Junior and 88,000 Jeep Avenger.
