The Ford F-150 is the best-selling vehicle of 2023
With 750,789 units sold and an increase in sales volume of 15%, the Ford Motor Company model earned first place in the ranking.
The Ford Motor Company once again led the ranking of best-selling car models in 2023. The year was also notable for Ford, as it was involved in the strike called by the United Auto Workers (UAW) union in September 2023, along with Stellantis and General Motors. The stoppage ultimately ended on Nov. 18 after both parties reached an agreement to improve working conditions.
According to Car and Driver, the Ford F-150 was the best-selling model last year, with a total of 750,789 units. In addition, it managed to increase its sales volume compared to fiscal year 2022 by approximately 15%. The price of the most basic model was $35,830, while the most expensive reached $84,115. With the model update that Ford plans for this year, the F-150's new minimum price will be $38,565.
In second position was the Chevrolet Silverado, with 543,319 units sold. The company that owns the brand, General Motors, was also be affected by the strike in the automobile sector, though it increased its sales volume of this model by 6% compare to 2022. Its price ranged from $36,645-$63,945.
Another model from a Stellantis subsidiary, the RAM 1500, was the third most purchased in the country last year. With a minimum price of $39,900 and a maximum of $66,290, 444,926 of these models were purchased, 5% less than in 2022.
Toyota was the first non-North American manufacturer to appear in the ranking. The RAV4 model from the Japanese producer had an increase in sales of almost 6%, with a total of 434,943 units sold. Its price ranged from $29,625-$39,245 and, in addition, it was the best-selling non-pick-up vehicle in 2023.
Following these were the Tesla Model Y (385,900 units), the Honda CR-V (361,457 units), the GMC Sierra (295,737 units), the Toyota Camry (290,649 units), the Nissan Rogue (271,458 units) and the Jeep Grand Cherokee (244,595 units).
