Three of the top five cities with the highest number of billionaires are in the United States
According to the ranking, the San Francisco Bay Area, New York and Los Angeles have 163 residents with wealth in excess of $1 billion. Beijing and Shanghai round out the top five.
The United States is the country with the largest number of billionaires in the world with a total of 281. According to the World's Wealthiest Cities Report 2023 by British investment consultancy Henley & Partners, three of the top five cities with billionaires are in the U.S.
The San Francisco Bay Area leads the ranking, followed by New York, Beijing, Los Angeles and Shanghai. Other U.S. cities with billionaire residents include Chicago, Houston, Miami, Seattle, Austin, Boston, Greenwich and Darien, Las Vegas, Santa Barbara and Montecito, West Palm Beach, Scottsdale and San Diego.

Centi-millionaires
The United States has 3,312 citizens whose wealth exceeds $100 million, according to Henley & Partners. Based on this record, the top three cities with the highest number of centi-millionaires are American: New York (724), San Francisco Bay Area (629) and Los Angeles (480). Chicago is also in the top 10 with 295.
There are about 1,300,000 U.S. citizens with more than $1 million in assets. Most of them are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Miami, Seattle, Austin, Boston, Greenwich and Darien, Las Vegas, Santa Barbara and Montecito, West Palm Beach, Scottsdale and San Diego, according to the report.
