'The New York Times' points that Donald Trump would win the election against Biden thanks to five key states.

Support for the Republican candidate among black and Hispanic voters also soars, further complicating the president's reelection.

A poll conducted by The New York Times revealed that former President Donald Trump leads voting intentions in five of the six key states to win the 2024 presidential elections. The Republican would get the Electoral College votes in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania. Joe Biden still has the support of Wisconsin. "Add it all together, and Mr. Trump leads by 10 points in Nevada, six in Georgia, five in Arizona, five in Michigan and four in Pennsylvania. Mr. Biden held a 2-point edge in Wisconsin," The New York Times stated.

Meanwhile, support for Trump among Hispanics also increased and Biden's lead in this group was reduced to single digits: Biden has 50% and Donald Trump has 42%. Trump also has 22% support from Black voters. The New York Times claims this is "a level unseen in presidential politics for a Republican in modern times."

"Trump would be poised to win more than 300 Electoral College votes"

At least 71% of voters, including 54% of Biden's supporters, believe that the current president is too old for the position. That was not a concern in the case of Donald Trump. Only 19% of his supporters considered him too old compared to 39% of the general electorate.

Although there is still a year left for Biden to try to reverse the results, The New York Times highlighted that Trump's numbers are still quite good considering that he is being attacked with several legal battles.

"If the results in the poll were the same next November, Mr. Trump would be poised to win more than 300 Electoral College votes, far above the 270 needed to take the White House," the media outlet said.

Americans said that they trust Trump more than Biden when it comes to the economy by a margin of 59% to 37%. According to The New York Times, this is "the largest gap of any issue."
