Al Qaeda threatened to attack Western and Jewish targets before the New Year holiday

So far, the TSA has not detected a “credible threat” of terrorism against American means of transportation.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) told Fox News Digital that it is aware of Al Qaeda's latest threats against Western and Jewish targets.

Apparently, last week, on Christmas Day, the terrorist organization threatened “open jihad” against various targets, including transportation and airlines.

According to the report, Al Qaeda threatened via video to attack American, British and French airlines. Specifically, the group named American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Airlines, British Airways, EasyJet, Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

This Sunday morning, TSA said that, for now, they “are not aware of any credible threats resulting from this video to date.” However, they remain on high alert for any potential attack considering that tens of thousands to more than a million people will be flying to major cities around the world to celebrate the New Year.

“Foreign terrorist organizations routinely highlight transportation modes during the holidays,” the TSA said in an email to Fox News. “TSA is operating at a high level of security and constant state of vigilance, as always.”
