"The Brady Bunch" home for sale for $5.5 million

HGTV paid $3.5 million to purchase the iconic home in 2018. After a refurbishment, the television channel put it on the market for almost double the price.

"The Brady Bunch" home is for sale for $5.5 million. TV station Home & Garden Television (HGTV) paid $3.5 million to buy the iconic house in 2018, and on Tuesday, they put it up for sale for $2 million more than it initially paid.

HGTV snapped up the well-known home, located at 11222 Dilling Street in Los Angeles, as an investment and made good use of it. It invested a total of $1.9 million in renovating it and documented the entire process thanks to "A Very Brady Renovation," released in 2019.

During the documentary, the series' fans could see how the facade was restored, a second floor was added, and the living room, kitchen, bedrooms and patio were faithfully recreated. The Hollywood Reporter details that they visited the Paramount Studios set and copied each and every one of the pieces of furniture that can now be seen in the house where the ABC sitcom was filmed.

In addition, the TV station added 2,000 square feet to the home and even installed "The Brady Bunch's" iconic floating staircase as well as the popular orange kitchen. The whole process attracted a total of 28 million viewers who followed the remodeling of the house, chapter by chapter, for four weeks.

The iconic home, which had not changed owners since 1973 until it was sold in 2018, is the second most photographed building in the United States, second only to the White House.
