Twitter CEO Elon Musk continues his particular war with the public broadcaster NPR and now, as the media outlet has denounced, threatens to transfer their Twitter account to "another company."
In a series of emails sent to network reporter Bobby Allyn, Musk indicated that he might transfer the network's main Twitter account, under the alias @NPR, to another organization or individual.
"So is NPR going to start posting on Twitter again, or should we reassign @NPR to another company?"

This is the reporter's complaint, but the truth is that last month, NPR made the decision of it´s own free will to abandon Twitter after the social network applied to the organization's account a hashtag suggesting that it is controlled by the Administration. In response to this move, and in the same line followed by other media outlets such as PBS and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, NPR stopped posting on Twitter. There were also complaints in countries such as Spain, where the state-owned public broadcaster showed its rejection of this labeling despite being fully funded with taxpayers' money. Following these protests, Musk removed the tags from the Twitter pages of these public media outlets.

All these channels insist on their independence from 3rd party influences despite being financed by the public authorities and, in many cases, directed by members appointed by the political powers.
