Trump leverages his indictment to give his election campaign a boost

The former president used images of the New York arraignment to create an advertisement for his candidacy for the presidential election.

Donald Trump has leveraged his indictment to give an added boost to his election campaign. The former president used images from last Tuesday's arraignment in New York to create an advertisement for his candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections:

The spot, which the tycoon posted on his social network Truth Social, begins with a shot of New York City. After that, the spot shows the security detail the city activated during Trump's impeachment followed by a short clip the former president recorded as he made his way to the Manhattan courthouse for his arraignment.

All of this is accompanied by some of the statements made by various commentators on the case. In them, they accused New York prosecutor Alvin Bragg of creating an "idiotic" and "small-minded" prosecution. Moreover, they claimed that, in reality, "This is a persecution disguised as a prosecution."

The images then give way to another fragment of the former president entering the courtroom. This clip is followed by another scene showing Trump's return to Florida. This scene shows how the streets of Mar-A-Lago were full of people supporting Trump as the mogul's voiceover assures the following:

The only crime that I've committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it, and now these radical left lunatics want to interfere with our elections by using law enforcement. We can't let that happen.

The 55-second ad ends with Trump taking the stage at Mar-A-Lago to deliver a speech following his indictment and his campaign slogan: "We will make America great again!"
