Trump asks Republican states to “deploy” guards to support Texas in its border fight

The former president was backing up Governor Greg Abbott, who is challenging the Biden administration in various immigration disputes.

Former President Donald Trump asked Republican states to support Texas in its fight to control the immigration crisis at the southern border.

In particular, Trump asked the “willing” states to deploy guards to support the revolution led by Governor Greg Abbott, who is denouncing the federal government for its “abandonment” of the border states in the midst of a severe migration crisis.

“When I was President, we had the most secure Border in History. Joe Biden has surrendered our Border, and is aiding and abetting a massive Invasion of millions of Illegal Migrants into the United States,” Trump wrote on his Truth social network.

“Instead of fighting to protect our Country from this onslaught, Biden is, unbelievably, fighting to tie the hands of Governor Abbott and the State of Texas, so that the Invasion continues unchecked. In the face of this National Security, Public Safety, and Public Health Catastrophe, Texas has rightly invoked the Invasion Clause of the Constitution, and must be given full support to repel the Invasion,” continued the former president, who later requested deployment of troops to the border.

“We encourage all willing States to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of Illegals, and to remove them back across the Border. All Americans should support the commonsense measures by Texas authorities to protect the Safety, Security, and Sovereignty of Texas, and of the American people,” Trump wrote.

He added: “When I am President, on Day One, instead of fighting Texas, I will work hand in hand with Governor Abbott and other Border States to Stop the Invasion, Seal the Border, and Rapidly Begin the Largest Domestic Deportation Operation in History.”

Trump’s message comes after Abbott released a statement warning the federal government that Texas was in a position to defend its borders over federal statutes based on his invasion declaration.

Texas and the Biden Administration have been in legal disputes over immigration for months. The latest conflict, related to the barbed wire fences in border cities, was resolved by the Supreme Court in a closed ruling where federal agents were authorized to cut the fences. However, the ruling does not prevent Texas from putting wires in its border cities.
