A group of Procter & Gamble employees were kidnapped in Turkey

The kidnapper justified the crime as a response to Israeli military operations in Gaza.

The Umut-Sen union reported that a group of workers from the American company Procter & Gamble were kidnapped in Turkey. The union posted a video on its X account (formerly Twitter) about the situation.

"Image of workers taken hostage by one or several suspects whose identity has not yet been identified at the Procter & Gamble (P&G) factory in Gebze GOSB," the union wrote on its X account.

Meanwhile, AFP reported that it is not clear how many people were being held at the plant. Likewise, it revealed that the kidnapper justified the crime as a response to Israeli military operations in Gaza.

"An individual who claims to act for Gaza is holding several employees of a factory of the American group Procter & Gamble (P&G) on the outskirts of Istanbul, the Turkish police announced on Thursday," AFP reported.

"The local press also broadcast images showing police cars blocking access to the Procter & Gamble factory, where some 500 people work in various shifts," AFP added.
