The popular series 'House of the Dragon' releases the first trailer for its second season

The new episodes of the 'Game of Thrones' prequel series will be available on HBO Max in summer 2024.

After two years of waiting, the popular "House of the Dragon" returns with the first trailer for its second season. The most successful series of 2022 is warming up for a new batch of episodes that will once again star Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke, who will play Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower, respectively.

The 75-second trailer was released at the CCPX fan convention held in Brazil. It gives a sneak peek of what's to come in the "Game of Thrones" TV prequel.

Rhaenyra and Alicent, the main characters of the second season of 'House of the Dragon'

The story will continue where the first season left off with Rhaenyra wanting to avenge the death of her son, Lucerys, who was brutally murdered when Alicent's son, Aemond, lost control of his dragon Vhagar. The series will continue to narrate the Dance of the Dragons, the name of the battle of Westeros that ended, internally, the power held by the Targaryens.

The trailer, as usual, was preceded by the first posters starring, once again, Rhaenyra and Alicent. They will demand "blood for blood" and "fire to fire" during this second season which, HBO Max announced a few weeks ago, will be available to watch sometime in the summer of 2024.

EW reported that, like last season, "House of the Dragon" will feature Matt Smith, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham. In addition, the popular HBO Max series will also be joined by actors Abubakar Salim, Gayle Rankin, Freddie Fox and Simon Russell Beale.
