'Starsky & Hutch' actor David Soul dies at 80

Actor David Soul, known for his starring role in the television series "Starsky & Hutch," has died at the age of 80, his wife Helen Snell announced. Soul died Thursday, although the news only emerged in recent hours. He played Detective Kenneth "Hutch" Hutchinson alongside David Starsky (Paul Michael Glaser) in the successful detective television series that originally aired between 1975 and 1979.

In addition to "Starsky & Hutch," Soul was known for his roles in "Here Come The Brides," "Magnum Force," and "The Yellow Rose." David Soul reprized his role as Kenneth "Hutch" Hutchinson two decades ago in the 2004 remake starring Ben Stiller as Starsky and Owen Wilson as Hutch.
