Authorities in Phoenix, Arizona, on Monday arrested several of the immigrants accused of beating NYPD officers. According to sources from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service, the suspects were involved in the beating that several migrants gave to two New York police officers.
Fox News Digital reports that the arrest occurred at the Greyhound bus station in Phoenix. Their identities have not been revealed and no details are known about what motivated their arrest or if they are the four migrants who, allegedly, would have obtained a free trip to California after committing the crime.
Hochul calls for more retaliation for migrants who assaulted NYPD officers
The seven migrants beat up two New York officers this weekend. Identified as Darwin Andrés Gómez (19 years old), Kelvin Servita Arocha (19), Wilson Juárez (21), Yorman Reveron (24), Jhoan Boada (22), Jandry Barros (21) and Yohenry Brito (24), the video in the one where two police officers were beaten went viral. This caused the arrest of the first four, which, however, was short-lived. Hours later the suspects were released without bail.
Something that the state governor, Kathy Hochul, frowned upon. She, during a press conference reported by the New York Post, stated that she wanted to have a conversation with the Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg, to find out the reasons why the alleged attackers had been released:
I think that’s actually something that should be looked at. I mean, if someone commits a crime against a police officer in the state of New York and they’re not here legally, it’s definitely worth checking into. These are law enforcement officers who should never under any circumstances be subjected to physical assault. It’s wrong on all accounts and I’m looking to judges and prosecutors to do the right thing.
For the moment, without the identities of those arrested in Phoenix being known, only Yohenry Brito remains under arrest for the beating of the two New York police officers.
