Olympic gymnastics star Simone Biles marries NFL player Jonathan Owens

"I do. Officially Owens," was the message shared on social networks by the famous gymnast along with images of the big day.

Famous Olympic gymnast Simone Biles married NFL player Jonathan Owens and shared images of the wedding via social media. The couple got engaged last year, but it was not until now that they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony.

This Saturday, the gold medalist shared via Twitter that she is now officially married to Owens and showed a series of photos from the wedding day. "I do. Officially Owens," wrote the gymnast next to some images in which she is seen wearing a beautiful white dress and posing with her now husband.

In one of the publications showing the marriage certificate, it is evident that the couple actually got married on Friday and it appears to have been a private event as only the couple and an officiant can be seen in the photographs.

Their history

According to an article in People, the athletes met through a dating app in March 2020. However, it wasn't until August of that same year that they went public with their relationship after Biles uploaded photos via Instagram in which she appeared hugging and kissing Owens.

After two years of dating, the NFL player finally popped the question to Biles with a ring valued at approximately $300,000 under a gazebo in Houston, Texas.

"I can't wait to spend forever and ever with you, you're everything I dreamed of and more! Let's get married FIANCÉ," the gymnast shared. Last week the couple received their marriage license in the state of Texas and on Friday they were united in marriage.
