Days after the second freezing episode of Mitch McConnell in a press conference, Nikki Haley made a scathing remark about the Senate. The presidential candidate analyzed old age in politics and said that those who make important decisions at the government level should know when to retire since their functions lead them to set the course in terms of the economy and national security.
The former South Carolina governor spoke to Fox News on Friday and first praised McConnell's leadership. While she indicated that "he has done great things" throughout his extensive career in the Upper House, she commented that you must know when to step aside.
"No one should feel good watching that (the McConnell episode), any more than we should feel good watching Dianne Feinstein, any more than we should feel good about a lot of the things that are going on or seeing the decline of Joe Biden," she said.
In a Fox News interview, Nikki Haley offered some thoughts on Mitch McConnell's apparent freeze-up earlier this week, saying the Senate is "the most privileged nursing home in the country."

Not content with that, she made a memorable comment about the current situation of the Upper House: "What I will say is that, right now, the Senate is the most privileged nursing home in the country."
"These are people who make decisions about our national security. They're making decisions about our economy, about the border. We need to know that they are at the top of their game," she added.
In addition, the presidential candidate called for psychological evaluations for politicians over 75 but was also open to everyone being tested.
Mitch McConnell's health
As recently reported by Voz Media, the Kentucky senator was "medically cleared" to go about his daily schedule. The Capitol physician, Brian P. Monahan, attested this in a statement the senator's team released.
"I have consulted with Leader McConnell and his neurology team. After assessing yesterday's incident, I have informed Leader McConnell that he is medically fit to continue with his schedule as planned. Occasional dizziness is not uncommon in concussion recovery and can also be expected as a result of dehydration."
