Carles Falcón, a Spanish motorcyclist, died after suffering a fall while competing in the Dakar Rally more than a week ago. The information was confirmed by the race organizers. He was 45 years old.
"It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Spanish rider Carles Falcón from his family," said the organizers of the Dakar Rally in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

Falcón was 278 miles from the second stage of the iconic race in Saudi Arabia when he crashed, according to CNN. After the accident, he was airlifted to the hospital to receive urgent medical attention.
Meanwhile, his Twin Trail Racing team mourned his loss. In addition, the team described Falcón as a smiling person, always active, who passionately enjoyed everything he did, especially riding motorcycles.
"He left us doing something that was his dream, racing the Dakar. He was enjoying it, he was happy on the bike. We must remember him for his smile and for the happiness he generated in everyone," Twin Trail Racing said on Instagram.
