Damar Hamlin remains in critical condition, however, according to his uncle Dorrian Glenn, who spoke to the NFL Network, Damar is showing signs of improvement. The Buffalo Bills player suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of a game against the Cincinnati Bengals and is currently at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center recovering from the collapse:
Right now, they got him on a ventilator, so they’re trying to get him to breathe on his own. So, we’re just kind of taking it day by day. Still in the ICU. They have him sedated, so just continue to administer the medical treatment that they’ve been doing. Once he gets out of ICU, I'll feel better myself.
Hamlin's family members thanked the medical personnel both on and off the field for their quick action. As Glenn reported to CNN, the safety suffered not one, but two cardiac arrests:
His heart had went out so they had to resuscitate him twice. They resuscitated him on the field before they brought him to the hospital ant then they resuscitated him a second time when they got him to the hospital. I'm not a crier, but I've never cried so hard in my life. Just to know, like, my nephew basically died on the field and they brought him back to life. I'm glad he's still alive and can fight and try to get better and recover.
