The Republican Party has told Google that "enough is enough." The Republican National Committee (RNC) filed a federal lawsuit against the company for allegedly systematically sending the political organization's election mailings to Gmail users' spam folder.
This is not the first time that Republican representatives have protested against technology over this issue. Earlier this year, they filed a formal complaint after an independent study showed that Republican Party emails were sent 820% more to the spam folder than those of their political rivals among Gmail users. According to the report, this was not the case with Yahoo or Outlook.
Follow-up for 10 months
This trend that the Republican Party itself discovered has still not changed. After 10 months of tracking Gmail inbox deliveries, they found that in key periods at the end of each month, Google reduced their main inbox delivery from 90-100% to 0%.
The Republican group filed the complaint Friday in the U.S. Eastern District Court. In the brief, they allege violations of various California laws regarding political discrimination, unlawful business practices and economic interference.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel explained the decision: "Enough is enough: We are suing Google for its blatant bias against Republicans. The Republican leader warned that in her party "we are committed to putting an end to this clear pattern of bias."
