Google reveals what was the most searched in Spanish in 2023: Peso Pluma, Shakira-Bizarrap and frijoles charros

Information about the Mexican singer was one of the most trending topics this year in Spanish-language searches.

Google is closing out 2023 with the results of your most searched words and ideas through your applications. For the United States, the platform also offered this Monday the results in Spanish, the second most spoken language in the country, which has more than 62 million speakers, according to data from the Cervantes Institute.

Among the most searched for in Spanish, one of the revelation artists of the year, Peso Pluma, stands out. The Mexican singer heads several categories. The most searched song is shared with Shakira and Bizarrap, who hold first place. For the results in English, Peso Pluma and Eslabón Armado achieved the fourth position of the most searched song on Google.

Featherweight is also among the most common results in searches "How...?." Google users wanted to know what Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija's real name is. Reality show, La Casa de los Famosos, and Inter Miami, were other topics that also interested Internet users.

"Where is Featherweight from?" was another question that topped the list with that category. Featherweight repeats in first place in "Who?," followed by "Who is Lele Pons?."

Hispanic recipes

In terms of recipes, Mexico and Cuba take the first two places. Frijoles charros, a typical dish of Mexican cowboys that has sausage, onion, bacon and garlic, remained the most searched dish in Spanish throughout 2023, gaining special popularity in the month of November. Behind the charros is the old Cuban clothing. This shredded beef recipe interested Internet users during the summer more than any other time of the year.
