It was a light schedule in the NBA with only two games, in which two teams from the Western Conference defeated two from the Eastern Conference. In the first of those games, played at the Chase Center in California, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Miami Heat (120–100), thanks in large part to a stellar performance by their star player, Stephen Curry, and the notable offensive contribution from the bench.

Curry was largely responsible for the Californians' victory. The Warriors' captain was the game's leading scorer (29 points) and led the Warriors' offense.

The Golden State's bench players were key, providing Curry with the most support on both offense and defense and finishing the game with a combined 53 points—nearly half of the team's total.

For the Heat, Giannis Antetokounmpo was the standout player. The Greek forward finished with a double-double (20 points and 14 rebounds), a feat also achieved by Bam Adebayo (18 points and 10 rebounds).

The Suns win again

In the other game of the day, the Phoenix Suns managed to end their four-game losing streak by defeating the Orlando Magic (117-104) at PHX Arena in Arizona.

In the first three quarters, the home team was clearly superior: until the start of the final 12 minutes, Phoenix led by 23 points.

Devin Booker led the Suns, who, prior to their game against the Magic, had only managed one win. The point guard scored 30 points, making him the game's leading scorer.

"We needed the win, and we came in with the right mindset," Booker said after the game against the Magic. "We've been playing well, but we haven't been able to turn our good efforts into wins."

"This is the most complete game we've played; we still have a lot of work to do," he added.

Booker was aided by Miles Bridges, who recorded a double-double (18 points and 13 rebounds), and Dillon Brooks (24 points).

For the Magic, Wendell Carter Jr. (27 points and 13 rebounds), while Desmond Bane and Franz Wagner (each scored 15 points) had a more subdued night. Paolo Banchero is still unable to play due to an injury to his right ankle.
