Small plane crash in Florida results in multiple fatalities and destroys several mobile homes
The FAA confirmed that the pilot of the aircraft issued an alert that the engine was failing before falling on several homes, causing a spectacular fire.
The crash of a small plane into a mobile home park in Clearwater (Florida) has resulted in multiple fatalities - the authorities have not yet been able to determine the number - and an undetermined number of injuries, as well as the fire of several of these homes. The FAA confirmed that it received an alert from the pilot of the small plane before it ended up crashing.
The remains of the plane, inside a house
Speaking to the media, Clearwater Fire Department Chief Scott Ehlers explained that the plane hit a mobile home, causing a fire that spread to three other homes. According to their first words, at least three structures have fire damage, while a fourth "could present" damage of this type.
The remains of the aircraft were found inside one of the homes, and the fire chief confirmed that "there are several fatalities" in both the plane and the mobile home.
