New York State becomes a "safe haven" for gender treatment of minors
Governor Kathy Hochul signed several measures to support the LGBT lobby. Some of them will require the inclusion of neutral language in new laws and state administrations.
New York State is now a "safe haven" for transgender minors seeking a sex change. According to Governor Kathy Hochul, the Empire State has always been a place where the LGBT lobby has felt protected and intends to keep it that way:
For that reason, the governor signed a series of laws protecting transgender treatment, including those for minors. In this way, the state courts may not apply laws of other states to take custody away from a parent who is in the midst of a legal custody battle if the parent allows the child to undergo sex change treatments such as puberty blockers or hormone therapy.
It is not the only veto that applies the new measures ratified by Hochul. State and local authorities are also prohibited from cooperating with other states in any matter involving the prohibition of gender-based treatment, even if it involves a subpoena.
In addition, the governor signed another series of measures requiring the use of neutral language in every new law enacted. The same measure should be applied by government websites, which should revise all their texts and change the language to the neutral.
