Planned Parenthood encourages young people to take puberty blockers
Dr. Ricard Nergardh warned that these drugs produce chemical castration, affect mental health, and can lead to suicide.
Planned Parenthood launched a new ad targeting youth and minors that markets medications it considers as "safe drugs" to block puberty that can be used "as a stop sign" to halt hormonal development.
Drugs to castrate sex offenders
Advertising encourages young people to take drugs that stop age-appropriate hormonal development. The ad uses the following words:
The video uses the different gender identities such as trans, intersex and non-binary to incite minors to take puberty blockers. It also points out that gender transition can be accomplished with surgery or other medications: "Some people opt for hormones or surgeries to help their body adjust to their gender identity.”
The organization's website specifically cites leuprolide acetate, also known as Lupron, as a safe drug used to block puberty. This drug has been used to chemically castrate sex offenders.
"Serious side effects"
In Stockholm, Sweden, Karolinska University Hospital stopped hormonal procedures for children and young people diagnosed with gender dysphoria because "there is a lack of scientific support for the treatments and a risk of possible side effects.”
In the European country from 2015- 2020, around 440 children received puberty blockers, and the treatments did not exceed the recommended time to reduce risks. However, 13 children who had taken hormone blockers for gender transition suffered serious side effects. Not only did they suffer from physical problems, such as constant back pain, osteoporosis, stunted growth, deformed vertebrae, but they also suffered from various suicide attempts and mental health problems.
Dr. Ricard Nergardh, a pediatric endocrinologist who treats transgender children, warns of the dangers of hormones administered to minors:
Despite studies supporting side effects in children receiving hormonal procedures, Planned Parenthood continues to receive hundreds of millions of dollars from the Biden Administration in grants to implement these plans.
