North Carolina: almost half of registered voters have already cast their ballots
More than 3.6 million citizens have already gone to the polls in one of the key states for this election.
More than 3.6 million of the 7.8 million registered voters in North Carolina already voted early in the presidential election.
Virtually all of those 3.6 million citizens (3.43 million) who voted early did so in person, while fewer than 200,000 voted by mail.
In the 2020 election, 3.9 million residents in North Carolina voted early and, in 2016, 2.35 million.
By political affiliation, 29.89% of these voters were Republicans, 31.28% Democrats and 37.8% independents.
North Carolina is one of the states that will define the election results. According to polls, Donald Trump is projected to prevail over Kamala Harris by a slight margin.
