McCarthy is willing to move forward with impeachment of Biden
The Speaker of the House of Representatives said the president has "militarized the government" in a way not seen since the Nixon administration.
Kevin McCarthy asserted Monday night that the House could move forward with an impeachment attempt against Joe Biden. The spokesman appeared on Fox News’s “Hannity” program, expressing that the evidence compiled by Republicans about the president’s link to his son Hunter’s business dealings “is rising to the level of impeachment.”
The Republican’s statements relate to hearings and investigations by the House Oversight Committee, which lately has focused on unraveling the relationship between Hunter’s business dealings and his father. McCarthy also discussed alleged payments made by Romanian and Chinese entities to members of the Biden family,
“The FBI kept this from the IRS. So, not only do they claim that they were bribed, we now find information that 16 out of 17 payments from Romania were provided to the Biden shell companies while he was vice president. When President Biden was running for office, he told the American public that he’s never talked about business. He said his family has never received a dollar from China, which we now proved is not true,” he said.
According to him, the fact that the Republicans regained control of the House of Representatives was key to finding this information, which “is rising to the level of impeachment inquiry, which provides Congress the strongest power to get the rest of the knowledge and information needed.”
McCarthy also took aim at the Biden Administration in general since, in his view, it has carried out a “militarization of government” not seen since the Nixon administration.
“I believe we will follow this all the way to the end, and this is gonna rise to an impeachment inquiry the way the Constitution tells us to do this,” he ended.
