Heartbreak was the main theme of music in 2023. Shakira, Karol G and Bad Bunny are just some of the artists who decided to sing about breakups during the year. In a world where relationships can be fleeting and complex, music remains a refuge.

1. 'TQG' (acronym for "te quedó grande"): by Colombian singers Karol G and Shakira. It won the Latin Grammy for Best Urban Fusion and Interpretation. It was released on February 24, 2023, through Universal Music Latino, as the fifth single from Karol G's fourth studio album, Mañana will be beautiful, which won the 2023 Latin Grammy album of the year award. At the end of the year it remains among the 15 most listened to songs on YouTube.

2. 'Mientras me curo del cora': by Colombian singer-songwriter Karol G. It was released on March 7, 2023 through Universal Music Latino, as the sixth single from her fourth studio album, Mañana will be beautiful .

3. 'Shakira: BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53': this is a song by the Argentinian producer Bizarrap and the Colombian singer Shakira, belonging to the BZRP Music Sessions. It was released on January 11, 2023 through Dale Play Records. The song was composed by Bizarrap, Shakira, Kevyn Cruz and Santiago Alvarado. It won Best Song of the Year and Best Pop Song at the Latin Grammy. It was in the focus of the press due to the different references in the song to Shakira's ex-partner, the soccer player Gerard Piqué.

6. 'First date': is a song by Mexican singer-songwriter Carín León, released on April 20, 2023, as the fifth single from her third studio album Colmillo de Leche. It was written by Alejandro Lozano and produced by León and Orlando Aispuro.

7. 'Where She Goes': by Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny. It was released on May 18, 2023, through Rimas Entertainment.

8. 'El Merengue': by the American DJ and record producer Marshmello and the Colombian singer Manuel Turizo. It was released on March 3, 2023 through Joytime Collective, as the third single from Turizo's third studio album, 2000 .

9. 'Vagabundo': performed by Colombian artists Sebastián Yatra, Manuel Turizo and Beéle. Its release took place on May 11, 2023 under the Universal Music Latino label. The musical piece pays tribute to traditional rhythms, especially merengue, which is emblematic of the culture of its native country, being an expression of Colombian musical identity.
