Shakira, Karol G and Bizarrap triumph at the Latin Grammys
The 24th edition of the most important Spanish-language music gala in the world was held in Seville, Spain.
For the first time in history, the Latin Grammys crossed the pond and this Thursday the event took place in Seville (Spain). The 24th edition will go down in history not only for that, but also for the message that Spanish singer Rosalía sent to her ex-boyfriend Rauw Alejandro, where she changed the lyrics of Rocío Jurado's song, "Se nos rompió el amor." The Puerto Rican singer also attended the musical event and, in what many described as an exchange of messages between the two, he performed the song "Se fue" by Laura Pausini.
However, they were not the main winners of the night. That honor went to artists like Shakira, Karol G, Natalia LaFourcade and Bizarrap. They all ended the night holding up a total of three gramophones. The Colombian Karol G was the top winner, taking three of the most important awards: Best album of the year and Best urban music album for the album Mañana será bonito. She also took home the gramophone award for Best Urban Fusion/Performance for her song "TQG," a collaboration with Shakira.
The singer from Barranquilla was also one of the winners of the night. On stage, she shone when she performed "Acrosticus" with her children. In the awards section, along with the award for Best Urban Fusion/Performance, Shakira also won two other awards for Best Song of the Year and Best Pop Song, both for the song in collaboration with Bizarrap, "Session 53."
Bizarrap, which recently changed its name to Bizapop, added another gramophone to its record in addition to the two it shared with Shakira. Another of his "sessions," the one he did with Quevedo titled "Quédate," won the award for Best Urban Song.
