Usher will be the star of halftime show at the 2024 Super Bowl

Usher is the artist chosen to perform during the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show, according to a press release issued by the National Football League (NFL) and Roc Nation.

This Sunday Apple Music, the NFL and Roc Nation announced through social media, X, that Usher will perform during the halftime show of the end of the football season on February 11 at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas.

“It's an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can't wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they've seen from me before," said Usher. "Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I'll see you real soon," the singer said in a video that includes Kim Kardashian.

The artist will perform for the second time at the Super Bowl halftime. The first time he was a guest during the Black Eyed Peas' show at Super Bowl XLV in 2011 and now he will be headlining the show.

"Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career; we couldn't be more excited to have him headlining this year's Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show," said the director of NFL music, Seth Dudowsky. "We look forward to working with Usher, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another Halftime Show for the history book."

In 2019 the NFL and Roc Nation partnered for the production of the Super Bowl halftime shows, this resulted in performances by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez (2020), The Weeknd (2021), Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dree ( 2022) and Rihanna's show (2023) which is the most watched so far and earned five nominations for the Creative Arts Emmy.
