Nickelodeon to offer an alternate Super Bowl LVIII telecast for kids

It will be the first time in history that this has happened. SpongeBob will help present the game on the kids' TV channel.

Super Bowl LVIII, which will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, 2024, will come with a big surprise for kids. The National Football League (NFL) and CBS Sports announced an agreement with Nickelodeon for the kids' channel to provide an alternate broadcast. The presentation of this telecast will feature SpongeBob SquarePants, one of the country's most popular cartoons, to help explain the game for kids.

In fact, it will be the first time in history that a different broadcast of one of the world's most important sporting events will take place. Nickelodeon will also offer live coverage of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders game on Christmas.

"We're thrilled to partner with CBS Sports and Nickelodeon to present the first alternate telecast of the Super Bowl. Our previous telecasts on Nickelodeon have been huge hits and created a new and different way to experience an NFL game. We're excited to bring that creativity to Super Bowl 58 and give our fans another way to enjoy one of the world's most popular sporting events," said Hans Schroeder, NFL executive vice president of media.

Nickelodeon CEO Brian Robbins added:

We are unbelievably proud to partner with CBS Sports and the NFL to bring Nick's personality and unique visual sensibility to the Super Bowl.
