The Biden Administration insists on promoting them, and the Republican Party says it is only hurting U.S. workers and benefiting China.

Most Americans do not consider electric cars practical. Only 28% of the population believes in the usefulness of this type of vehicle, a percentage that is also decreasing over time.

A poll by Rasmussen Reports shows that 54% of adults reject electric cars, while 18% are unsure of their functionality. Compared to the previous poll last March, there was an increase in distrust of these vehicles. At that time, 52% of respondents considered them to be of little use.

Republican rejection of Biden's policy

The Biden Administration is spending billions to promote electric cars to meet its goal of having half of all vehicles sold by 2030 be electric, as well as attaching plugs to gas station pumps.

The Republican Party opposes these policies because it believes they hurt American workers and manufacturers and benefit China. Republicans cite as an example what is happening with Ford Motor Company, which will purchase electric batteries from Chinese companies such as CATL and eliminate up to 8,000 jobs.

Contradictions in California

California, one of the great Democratic fiefdoms, has approved a ban on the sale of new combustion cars starting in 2035, a measure that Governor Gavin Newsom considers "bold":

The climate crisis is solvable if we focus on the big, bold steps needed to stem the tide of carbon pollution.

Days after these statements, Newsom called for a reduction in electricity consumption to save energy, which would directly affect the use of electric cars.

High price of electric vehicles

In 2021, the average selling price of an electric car was $56,000, an unaffordable cost for the majority of the population.

Recently, Cadillac unveiled its $300,000 EV model, and Tesla raised the price of the Model Y SUV to $70,000. Currently, a Rivian electric pickup truck costs $80,000, after the manufacturer decided to raise its price by $12,000.
