Country singer-songwriter Charlie Robison dies

The artist behind "I Want You Bad" and "Life of the Party" died Sunday from cardiac arrest.

Texas singer-songwriter Charlie Robison (59) passed away Sunday. Those close to him reported that he died at a San Antonio hospital due to cardiac arrest, among other medical complications.

Robinson released his first album, "Bandera," in 1966. Some of his best known songs are "Life of the Party" and "My Hometown." He also wrote and sang the hit "I Want You Bad" from the 2001 album "Step Right Up."

Robinson was forced to put his music career on hold in 2018 after losing the ability to sing due to throat surgery.

"Today my heart is broken in the deepest most irreparable way," the artist's sister, Robyn Ludwick, posted on Facebook. "My big brother Charlie passed away in the arms of his loved ones. Please play some Charlie Robison on Repeat. He would want it that way."

His wife, Kristen Robison, also took to social media on Sunday to say goodbye to the musician:

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that my husband, Charlie Robison has passed away today, surrounded by his family and friends. My heart is broken. Please pray for me, our children and our family.
