At least six killed in helicopter crash in the Mojave Desert

Nigerian businessman Herbert Wigwe, CEO of Access Bank Holdings, died in the accident along with his wife and son.

Edo State, Nigeria, Governor Godwin Obaseki reported that the CEO of Access Bank Holdings, Herbert Wigwe, died in a helicopter accident in the United States. Wigwe's wife and son, as well as the former president of the Nigerian Stock Exchange group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, also died in the accident.

Wigwe was a colossus in Nigeria's financial sector, leading Access Bank to become an international brand that placed Nigeria on the global map of first-class financial services,” Obaseki wrote on X.

I commiserate with the Wigwe family, the Ogunbanjo family, Access Bank Holding, the Nigeria Stock Exchange, friends and associates, and pray that God will grant all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

According to media reports, the accident that occurred in California killed six people.

"The helicopter left Palm Springs Airport at around 8:45 p.m. and was on its way to Boulder City, Nevada, which is near Las Vegas. At the time of the crash, rainy and snowy weather was reported in the area," reported Fox News.
