Venezuelans in exile respond to the call of opposition leader María Corina Machado with protests around the world to demand free elections

"Today we are united in a common dream: to liberate our country and reunite our families," said the opposition leader.

This Saturday, Venezuelan citizens worldwide responded to the call of opposition leader María Corina Machado to raise their voices from their countries of residence and demand free and fair elections in Venezuela.

The global protest, which aimed to denounce the electoral blockade and human rights violations perpetrated by the dictatorial regime of Nicolás Maduro, was carried out in different parts of the United States, as well as in various cities in Europe and Latin America.

“The world sees everything that unites us; Venezuelans are today united in a common dream: to liberate our country and reunite our families,” Machado said in a video she shared through social networks.

The opposition leader also shared several images and videos of the demonstrations and highlighted the importance of Venezuelans continuing to make efforts to register in the electoral registry at the nearest consulates to exercise their vote in the presidential elections controlled by the dictatorial regime and scheduled for next July 28.

It is relevant to point out that since the electoral process began, there have been multiple complaints of irregularities, not only due to the unfounded disqualification of the opposition leader who won the primaries organized by the opposition with more than 90% of the votes, but also for intensifying the persecution and repression against other opponents and activists, preventing the registration of candidates who have the support of Machado and hindering both the right of new voters and Venezuelans abroad to register, as well as the deployment of comprehensive electoral observation missions.
